CD Projekt Red recently released a free Remastered edition for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, propelling the title to achieve its highest concurrent player count on Steam since its original debut.
More than 120,000 active users were documented playing the role-playing game on Steam concurrently, placing it right outside the top ten most-played titles on the platform during a twenty-four-hour window.
SteamDB tracking data indicates this record surpasses previous milestones, which included 92,000 concurrent players in 2015, a peak of 103,000 during January 2020 due to the Netflix adaptation, and 89,000 in December 2022 following a next-generation patch.
This player metric excludes users playing via GOG, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch 2. Furthermore, the newly launched Remastered upgrade includes visual and gameplay enhancements alongside the Blood of Wine and Hearts of Stone expansions at no extra charge.
