Independent developer Fujii.Production has unveiled its upcoming action-adventure title, Yokohama Kidou Bousouzoku ROCK'N ROLL SUICIDE. Set in a fictionalized version of the late Showa era, the game depicts a world where biker gangs pilot giant robots to battle for territorial control. The title is currently scheduled for a March 2027 release on Steam.
The narrative follows protagonists Miho and Hoshi as they investigate a coup d'état within the Yokohama Union. After the Red Rockers gang rejects a peace treaty with the Japanese Army Police, the protagonists must defeat four faction leaders. Combat focuses on 1v1 melee encounters rather than traditional ranged shooting, utilizing a low-angle camera perspective to emphasize the massive scale of the machines.
Gameplay involves exploring urban environments to collect DISK items, which allow players to unlock and customize their robot's move sets. The developer emphasizes a nostalgic aesthetic, incorporating motorcycle-like engine sounds during startup sequences and cockpit designs reminiscent of fighter jets.
A notable feature of the game is its visual presentation, which utilizes photographs taken on-site by the developer. By cycling through Yokohama to capture local scenery during the summer, the team aimed to recreate a vivid, nostalgic atmosphere. The developer clarifies that all characters, organizations, and events depicted remain entirely fictional.
