The ARPG Torchlight: Infinite will launch its SS14 season, titled 'Beast of Talos', globally on October 16 at 10:00. Players will assume the role of a Warden tasked with managing the Talos prison, capturing fugitives, and suppressing riots to secure valuable loot.
The season introduces a follower system allowing players to recruit mercenaries like wolves, rats, lions, and elephants using 'Letters of Introduction'. These followers do not occupy existing skill slots and can be equipped with up to two additional skills. Furthermore, the new 'Final One' hero trait for Youga features a 'Clockwork Core' that binds active skills to deal damage and reduce cooldowns via critical hits.
Gameplay depth is expanded through new equipment affixes that include core support skills, reducing configuration limitations. Additionally, a 'Contract Spirit' system allows players to pay to select three past season mechanics for loot bonuses, which can be refreshed every 24 hours. The update also optimizes the trading house, character attribute displays, and crafting processes to streamline the overall experience.
Visual and audio improvements are included, featuring updated hero models for Gemma, Carino, and Bing, alongside enhanced boss fight effects. Players can earn rewards such as a legendary contract spirit selection pack and 30 combat contract spirit draws through seasonal check-ins and event participation.
