Hypixel Studios released the first major content update for the sandbox RPG Hytale on October 12. Titled Chapter I: Out of the Breach, this update introduces a new Chapter system for Windows, Linux, and macOS players, providing structured objectives to guide the player's journey through the game's procedurally generated world.
The update focuses on a goblin-themed narrative, featuring a new Goblin Lab and the Guttering Hollows biome. Players can now utilize new gadgets like the Scrap Drill for efficient mining, or mobility tools such as the Scrap Glider, Rocket Boots, and Hookshot. Additionally, a new ability system allows players to equip Runestones into a Runebinder’s Lattice to cast elemental spells, with Modifier Runestones available to customize combat builds.
Combat encounters include hand-crafted dungeons featuring bosses like the Feastmaster and the multi-phase final boss, Gobliterator. Beyond the core RPG elements, the update adds 12 minigames via Shuffle Jam, including Prop Hunt. Owners of the Cursebreaker edition receive a free Standard edition copy for each new Chapter release during early access.
Hytale remains in early access with three available editions: the 19.99 dollar Standard version, the 34.99 dollar Supporter version, and the 69.99 dollar Cursebreaker version. Players may upgrade their edition by paying the price difference.
