Kodansha Creators Lab announced that the new PC horror adventure title 1999 Tokoyo Building is scheduled for release on November 10. The announcement was made on October 14, 2026.
Players take on the role of an intruder tasked with uncovering the secrets of dangerous colleagues while attempting to survive and maintain a normal life. The gameplay loop alternates between point-and-click exploration of 360-degree low-polygon environments and visual novel-style conversation segments featuring Live2D character models.
The project is developed by the team Tokoyo Fudosan, consisting of scenario writer Mitsuki Nagase, illustrator and Live2D modeler Shingetsu Ogino, and designer-engineer Aoi Minato. The soundtrack is composed by Yasuhiro Nakashima, known for his work on Dare Kare.
A demo covering the entire first chapter is currently available on Steam. This trial offers approximately two hours of gameplay, allowing users to experience the core mechanics of character interaction and illegal entry. Additionally, original merchandise will be sold at Animate.
