IO Interactive has officially announced that the action-espionage title 007 First Light is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The game is scheduled for release on March 18, 2027, and pre-orders are currently available.
The title features an original narrative focusing on the origins of a young, inexperienced James Bond. Drawing on the studio's experience with the Hitman series, the gameplay emphasizes player choice, allowing for stealthy infiltration, the use of spy gadgets, or direct combat. The experience also includes vehicle chases and replayable missions with additional modifiers.
This version arrives nearly ten months after the game's initial launch on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The development is led by IO Interactive in collaboration with Delphi Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios.
To mark the announcement, the developers released a new trailer showcasing various action and espionage sequences. While the game was originally known as Project 007, it now stands as a fully realized third-person adventure.
