Developer RafaelNGP has launched PSBox Cloud Gaming, an unofficial client allowing users with jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles to stream Xbox titles. This homebrew software requires a Game Pass Ultimate subscription and utilizes a loader like ShadowMountPlus to function on Sony hardware.

The application supports DualSense controller integration, including rumble functionality and microphone-based voice chat. Streams typically operate at 1080p60, though users can select 720p for slower networks or experimental 1440p modes. Additionally, the software leverages the console's GPU to provide 4K upscaling via AMD FSR 1 or Anime4K.

Recent updates have introduced features like Remote Play for personal Xbox consoles. However, current limitations include a lack of HDR support due to CPU-based H.264 decoding and a bitrate of approximately 10 to 12 Mbps. Early testers have noted technical issues such as macroblocking, pink artifacts, and inconsistent vibration performance.

While the project is evolving rapidly, the developer acknowledges that Microsoft retains the ability to block or modify the underlying services at any time. This release follows a series of recent homebrew developments for the platform, including emulators for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 2 software.
