Rockstar Games is reportedly allocating at least 150 million dollars toward the advertising campaign for GTA 6. This significant investment exceeds the total development budgets of numerous other titles, such as the RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which cost less than 10 million dollars to produce.

The company intends to transform public spaces in Miami into showcases for Vice City, the fictional setting of the game. Proposed locations for these advertisements include the Miami International Airport, PortMiami, and various Metromover stations.

However, the campaign faces resistance from Miami-Dade county commissioners. René García expressed concern that the game portrays Miami as a crime-ridden paradise, while Danielle Cohen Higgins argued that the content conflicts with county standards regarding violence, prostitution, and pornography.

Despite this, some agreements remain in place, such as a 975,000 dollar deal for a seven-month sign at the Kaseya Center. Additionally, Miami has approved 1.2 million dollars in advertising, and Miami Beach is negotiating deals worth up to four million dollars. The county will revisit the broader promotional authorization on October 20.
