Yuji Horii, the creator of the Dragon Quest series, has released a new title titled Interrogation Room Komiya. The developer utilized artificial intelligence to complete the project in only 30 minutes, highlighting a shift in his creative process compared to his earlier work on The Portopia Serial Murder Case.
The gameplay mechanics of Interrogation Room Komiya involve players selecting specific phrases and questions to prompt a suspect to confess to a crime. Horii noted that while he previously handled all writing, art, and programming himself, he can now generate functional games by providing instructions to AI tools without requiring a development team.
Horii has expressed significant interest in integrating this technology into future projects. During the G-Star 2025 conference in South Korea, he confirmed his intention to incorporate chatbots into upcoming mystery-focused games, viewing AI as a major catalyst for change within the industry.
