Sony has unveiled the God of War Laufey collector’s edition, a premium package priced at US$ 149.99 that notably excludes the game itself. Similar to recent industry trends seen with titles like GTA 6, this collection provides physical memorabilia but lacks any digital or physical copy of the software.
The box includes a 20 cm illuminated statue of Faye, Phranque, and Rue, a 51-card oracle deck illustrated by Megan Lara, and a physical mini art book. The statue features a USB-powered lighting element for the character Phranque.
Critics note that this offering feels insufficient compared to previous entries in the franchise. For instance, the God of War (2018) collector's edition included the game disc, while the God of War Ragnarök version provided digital codes for both PS4 and PS5. Furthermore, the absence of even a digital deluxe upgrade is viewed as a disappointment by some observers.
The collector's box is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, with a limited production run available exclusively through PlayStation. While priced at € 149.99 and £ 129.99 in other regions, there is no official information regarding a Brazilian release, suggesting fans may need to rely on imports.
