The design of Windows 11 has become a subject of intense discussion within the technology community. This conversation intensified after Microsoft leadership responded to public feedback concerning interface updates and the ongoing debate over the relevance of legacy features.

Diego Baca, Vice President of Design at Windows, acknowledged that meeting the needs of over 1 billion active users globally represents a significant challenge when developing a modern operating system. This response followed reports that the current design struggles to satisfy every user.

The discussion emerged after a user suggested removing the Start Menu, labeling it obsolete due to the presence of Windows Search. Microsoft countered that individual preferences, habits, and workflows vary greatly, noting that elements viewed as inefficient by some are considered vital tools by others.

Rather than implementing drastic removals, Microsoft intends to prioritize system performance improvements and expanded customization options. This strategy aims to grant users the flexibility to adjust the Windows 11 interface to better suit their personal comfort and professional requirements.
