The latest trailer for Invincible VS reveals that Agent Spider is joining the game as an upcoming DLC character. This addition serves as a clever parody of the well-known Marvel hero, leaning into the character's status as a recognizable archetype.
The character is voiced by Josh Keaton, who is well-known for providing the voice for Spider-Man in various projects, including The Spectacular Spider-Man and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. This casting choice creates a direct, intentional homage to the source material that inspired the character's creation.
Agent Spider was originally developed as a legally distinct substitute for the Invincible television series because Amazon did not secure the rights to use the actual Spider-Man from Disney. While the character appeared alongside a version of Professor Ock in the show, the original comic book crossover featured the genuine Marvel hero.
Specific gameplay details regarding Agent Spider's mechanics in Invincible VS have not yet been released. It remains to be seen how the character will perform in the game's meta, though there is curiosity regarding whether this web-slinging fighter will achieve top-tier status.
