Hardware leaker Kepler_L2 suggests that AMD's upcoming RDNA 5 graphics architecture will likely debut in the second half of 2027. The release is not anticipated before Computex 2027, with the company reportedly planning to introduce the AT2 silicon first, potentially targeting the mid-range market segment.
Following the initial AT2 rollout, AMD is expected to expand the RDNA 5 lineup with additional models, specifically the AT0, AT3, and AT4 variants. These subsequent releases are projected to arrive throughout 2028, rounding out the company's discrete GPU offerings for that generation.
Technical specifications indicate that RDNA 5 will utilize GDDR7 memory, as evidenced by recent AMDGPU driver listings. Furthermore, the architecture will feature the new Display Core Next 6 engine, which introduces advanced scaling integrity, a UPSP pre-scaler for specific content formats, and updated pixel logic to support high-resolution and high-refresh gaming.
While these details provide a roadmap for the future architecture, it is important to note that this information originates from leaker claims rather than official AMD announcements. The transition to GDDR7 and DCN 6 represents a significant shift from the current RDNA 4 consumer hardware.
