The suspense mystery novel game Hirugao is scheduled for release on Steam on October 27. Set in Korea in the year 2000, the narrative centers on a serial murder investigation that begins following the discovery of a body in a local entertainment district.
Gameplay involves tracking the truth behind the murders by alternating between the perspectives of a woman, a man, and a detective. Players must synthesize clues gathered from these different viewpoints to progress, as choices lead to story branches and potentially immediate game-over scenarios.
Inspired by 1990s titles like Kamaitachi no Yoru, the game utilizes realistic backgrounds combined with character silhouettes to evoke a classic mystery atmosphere. It features one true ending alongside 10 bad endings to encourage replayability.
The title supports Korean, Japanese, English, and Chinese languages. Interested players can currently access a free demo covering the prologue through chapter two on Steam, with the game also slated to participate in the Steam Next Fest.
