The Pokemon Company has announced a new official board game titled "Are You Team Rocket?" scheduled for release on November 12, 2026. Priced at 2,200 yen, the game is designed for four to six players aged 10 and older, with sessions lasting at least 30 minutes.
Set in a Pokemon gym, the game features a psychological battle between three factions: Gym Leaders and Trainers, Challengers, and infiltrating Team Rocket members. Players must deduce the roles of others while managing their chosen Pokemon and playing cards to execute attacks, defenses, or utility effects.
The game's TV commercial features voice actors Megumi Hayashibara, Shin-ichiro Miki, and Inuko Inuyama. Reflecting on the gameplay, Hayashibara noted the excitement of the deduction elements, while Miki highlighted the accessibility for beginners. Inuyama remarked that playing as Team Rocket is particularly challenging, requiring significant skill.
The game will be available at Pokemon Centers, online retailers, and toy stores. A limited advance sale is scheduled for the Game Market 2026 Autumn event on October 17 and 18. A promotional campaign offering a special rubber band will accompany the official launch.
