Japanese voice actress Manaka Iwami, known for roles such as Akane Kurokawa in Oshi no Ko and Miharu Shiina in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, announced on the 13th that she has married a non-celebrity and successfully given birth to her first child.
Iwami shared the news personally during her radio program, Ishimi Manaka no Radio Tekuteku, and via a handwritten letter on her agency Raccoon Dog's website. She explained that she waited until after a safe delivery to make the announcement, as this was her first experience with pregnancy and childbirth.
The announcement confirmed fan speculation from September, when observers noted Iwami holding a cushion over her abdomen during a Rascal Does Not Dream series event. Fans previously theorized that other cast members held cushions to help conceal her pregnancy, a claim that was initially dismissed as over-analysis but has now been validated.
Iwami apologized for missing certain work events and for the impact her recovery period had on recording schedules. She expressed gratitude toward industry colleagues for their support and stated her intention to continue her acting career, aiming to grow both personally and professionally in this new chapter of her life.
