Ubisoft may be preparing a new version of Watch Dogs Legion, according to reports revealed by a known journalist. Published on 6/10/2026, the rumors indicate that the 2020 open-world hacker game will receive a Director's Cut during the first half of 2027, ahead of the summer season.
Watch Dogs Legion originally transported players to a dystopian London following the effects of Brexit. Instead of a single protagonist, the title introduced a system allowing players to recruit and control any non-player character as part of a group of hacktivists, featuring distinct abilities and optional permanent death.
Although Insider Gaming noted earlier in the year that Tom Henderson mentioned a potential remake, sources suggest Ubisoft's intent with the Director's Cut is to update gameplay elements, modernize the graphics using newer technology free from past-generation limitations, and potentially bring the title to Nintendo Switch 2. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot previously indicated that the franchise could potentially be revisited in the future, with potential remakes and remasterings depending on sales.
