Embark Studios has announced a five-day free access period for Arc Raiders across PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The free access begins on October 8 at 11:00 and concludes on October 12 at the same time. Console players will need an online subscription to play, and Embark has not clarified whether player progress will be saved.
The timing coincides with the release of the major Frozen Trail update. This update introduces a new map, three new ARC types, weapons, tools, mechanics, a fully customizable shelter, a skill tree rework, and additional cosmetic and gameplay content.
Immediately following the free period, an Arc Raiders PVE Test will take place to evaluate a purely cooperative PVE matchmaking alternative. Players who purchase the game during or after the free trial, which is discounted until October 8, will gain access to this test, though its official release remains unconfirmed.
