KONAMI released a free playable demo for the upcoming title Castlevania: Belmont's Curse across PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Players can sample the opening chapter and carry over their saved progress to the full game.
The story takes place in the year 1499 in Paris, twenty-three years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Trevor Belmont and his daughter Rose enter a monster-infested Paris, and Rose becomes entangled in a conspiracy behind the disaster.
The gameplay retains the iconic Vampire Killer whip combat while significantly enhancing traversal. Players can use the whip to attack enemies and swing rapidly across environments, alongside multiple weapon categories and magic relics.
Defeated bosses like Death, Medusa, Carmilla, and Joan of Arc can be sealed into Tarot cards as Arcana. This grants new magic and special abilities that expand exploration areas and combat tactics.
Save data from the demo transfers directly to the full release. Storage requirements are about 6GB on PS5, 5GB on Xbox Series X|S, and 4GB on Steam, running at 60fps. The Nintendo Switch version requires about 3GB and runs at 30fps, with multiple language options.
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026, for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the trial version currently available on all four platforms.
