Lizard Smoothie developer Shim Eun-seop announced that the action roguelite Shape of Dreams has officially launched on PlayStation 5. The release includes the game's largest update to date, titled The Starless Path.
Players choose from nine travelers, each featuring unique weapons, combat styles, and narratives. The gameplay focuses on fast-paced, aggressive combat within a shifting dream world called the Shoal. Players customize abilities using a system of memories and essences, with over 200 combinations available to create diverse builds. Because maps and paths change with every entry, players must assemble their strategies dynamically during exploration.
The game supports solo play or online co-op for up to four players. Cross-play is available at launch, integrating the PlayStation 5 lobby with PC and other console platforms. In co-op, players combine independent builds to create synergistic combat effects without being restricted to fixed roles.
The Starless Path update introduces the new traveler Cetus, a ranged ice tank, and a new narrative system where travelers unlock episodes and endings. Existing bosses receive new attack patterns at higher difficulties, and players can now utilize six shared identity memories to open new growth paths.
