Key information
Nimble Neuron has released Ceres, the second test subject of Season 12 for Eternal Return. As the first tank character to arrive in approximately 10 months, Ceres has sparked polarized reactions among players due to a design that emphasizes extreme passivity to protect allies.
Ceres is frequently described by the community as a "tanker Charlotte" because her kit is heavily reliant on teammates. Unlike other tanks capable of initiating fights or creating variables, Ceres is specialized in peeling and blocking enemy advances. Her E skill, Guard, and ultimate, Oath to the Light, are strictly defensive, and her personal damage output is described as poor.
Early statistics show Ceres struggling, with a 12.7% win rate and low rankings in TOP3 placement. Despite a hotfix nerf following strong performance in normal games with skilled damage dealers, current data indicates she lacks the impact of other tanks. Players have noted that without teammates, she is unable to function independently, leading some to label the experience as "not fun."
Despite these criticisms, Ceres excels at protecting allies, particularly when paired with melee damage dealers using the Strong Bond tactical skill. Most players equip her with the Healing Drone to compensate for her lack of self-sustain. While she may not suit those seeking an active, playmaking tank, she offers a unique experience for players who prefer a "sturdy support" playstyle.
