Key information
On October 7, XL Games released a developer video for the upcoming open-world action MMORPG, ArcheAge Chronicles. General Producer Ham Yong-jin outlined the game's core vision, which emphasizes exploration and cooperation alongside competitive elements, aiming to provide a natural experience for both solo adventurers and those seeking to collaborate with others.
The game features action-oriented combat where players must read enemy movements to execute dodges, parries, and attacks. Current development builds include four classes: melee, wild, magic, and iron wall. Beyond combat, the title incorporates diverse activities such as glider flight, underwater exploration, housing, crafting, and trade.
XL Games confirmed a buy-to-play business model, explicitly rejecting pay-to-win (P2W) mechanics. Producer Ham stated that character growth and competitiveness will be earned through gameplay. The studio plans to avoid in-game shops during the early access launch, with any future optional purchases focusing solely on convenience, customization, or additional content.
A playable demo will be available during the Steam Next Fest from October 20 to 27, 2026. This version will introduce new dungeons and PvP content, accessible to anyone with a Steam account without prior registration.
