Key information
Publisher One or Eight and developer Team EARTH WARS have released a playable demo for the action RPG My Neighbor is the Demon Lord. The title, which combines village construction with roguelike combat, was made available on the 8th ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest.
Players take on the role of a Builder summoned to the world of Luna. Gameplay involves managing agricultural tasks like farming and recruiting villagers, alongside combat sequences. During battles, players navigate areas featuring Goddess Blessings, which provide randomized abilities or materials until a boss is defeated.
A central mechanic is the hat system, allowing the protagonist and villagers to switch between various combat and production classes. Additionally, the Demon Lord Plachina Gothcast triggers a recurring event called the Demon Frenzy every five days, where she sings to incite monsters to attack the player's village.
The demo covers early-game content, including construction and the first boss fight, lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours. Following public testing feedback, production classes can now participate in combat. The Steam version is scheduled for winter 2026, while Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 releases are planned for 2027.
