Key information

Developed by Accelix with support from SCON, the management simulation game Maid Cafe Simulator has officially launched on Steam. The title tasks players with transforming a struggling cafe into a popular destination alongside five animal-eared maids modeled after real-life Korean Vtubers, including Eomong, Min02, Bukuki, Jegal, and 9mogu9.

Gameplay involves core management mechanics such as preparing ingredients, cooking, serving customers, and handling unruly patrons. Players can customize cafe layouts and assign tasks to maids. Beyond operations, the game emphasizes building relationships through dialogue and bonding stories, aiming for a 'Maidchelin 3-Star' rating. Accelix noted that while characters are based on Vtubers, they are reimagined with unique backstories to ensure accessibility for players unfamiliar with the original creators.

The development team utilized motion capture via XSTAGE to animate the maids, ensuring natural movement during work and performance sequences. Following multiple playtests, Accelix refined the game based on feedback, adjusting economic balance, UI readability, and cooking workflows. The team also addressed technical challenges regarding character rendering and animation integration to maintain visual quality.

Accelix plans to support the game with future content, including costume DLCs and themed 'Maidroids.' While the team remains open to growth, there are no confirmed plans for adding new Vtubers at this time. The game currently supports Traditional Chinese, inviting a broad audience to experience the cafe management loop.
