Key information

According to reports, Naughty Dog is reportedly bringing back the Uncharted franchise and has tapped Shaun Escayg to lead this post-Nathan Drake future. Escayg previously co-directed the 2017 standalone spinoff Uncharted: The Lost Legacy alongside Kurt Margenau.

The title follows supporting character Chloe Frazer, voiced by Claudia Black, and former antagonist Nadine Ross, voiced by Laura Bailey, on a treasure-hunting adventure. The reviewer notes that Claudia Black delivers an electric performance while Bailey expertly plays the straight man, creating a delightful dynamic duo.

Unlike Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which suffered from overly large environments, predictable plot points, and overly long flashbacks that dragged down its pacing, Lost Legacy is praised as all killer and no filler. Its runtime of roughly eight hours matches the length of the original trilogy, avoiding the pacing issues of its predecessor while featuring a standout semi-open Western Ghats level that improves upon Uncharted 4's car sections.

Visually gorgeous and mechanically sharp, Lost Legacy strips the series down to its core pillars. By learning from past successes and failures, the standalone expansion towers above the rest of the franchise.
