Key information

Paramount Skydance announced on American time October 6 that it has officially completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The newly combined organization will operate under the name Skydance, bringing together major film studios and media networks to form a massive entertainment enterprise.

Following the transaction, the newly formed entity will manage a vast portfolio. This includes Paramount and Warner Bros. studios, the HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming platforms, as well as cable and news networks such as CBS, HBO, and CNN.

Regarding future plans, the official announcement promises that the studio will release at least 30 theatrical films annually, with each movie maintaining a theatrical window of at least 45 days. Furthermore, the company outlined long-term goals to produce over 180 television shows and series each year.

In addition to theatrical and television output, leadership intends to combine the existing streaming services HBO Max and Paramount+ into a single unified platform. This merger of assets consolidates massive production capabilities and distribution channels under the single Skydance banner.
