Key information
During the Runefest 2026 showcase, multiplayer survivalbox RuneScape: Dragonwilds highlighted its upcoming content plans, focusing primarily on the Luminance update scheduled for release this December.
The December update advances the storyline following Kuldra's defeat, requiring players to protect Ceridwen and her child from the bounty hunter Morwyn. Mechanical features include using a lyre as a magical implement for songstones and fairy rings, new elven character customization options, the Prayer skill line, and elven-themed armor and building pieces.
Looking ahead to next year, Jagex previewed the Blood Crystal Saga, which will unfold across two chapters in 2027. The first chapter, Song of Rebellion, introduces the elven city of Ailddinas, the Hunter skill line, Implings, and assistance for an elven rebel group against the Nos Clan. The second chapter, Crown of Night, takes players into a darkness-covered realm to combat the Nos Clan directly and hunt for legendary items.
Additionally, Jagex promised further free updates featuring side quests, weapons, and adventures, alongside modding support slated for the first half of 2027 that includes in-game tools and a mod browser.
