Key information
On October 9, 2026, developer Norsfell unveiled Aftergods during The Triple-i Initiative showcase. This survival action RPG is slated for release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, with Steam store listings confirming support for 12 languages, including Japanese.
Set in a post-Ragnarok world, the game follows the Godborn, children of various mythologies, as they attempt to revive the seeds of the destroyed World Tree. Players utilize divine abilities to gather resources and construct structures, such as summoning temples from the sky or clearing forests with storms.
Maintaining divine power requires Nectar, a scarce resource following the World Tree's destruction. If Nectar reserves are depleted, players revert to human form, becoming vulnerable to threats that were previously trivial. Unlike mortals, the Godborn do not require food to survive.
The game tasks players with rescuing survivors and ancient deities to establish a new pantheon. These allies automate tasks like crafting, gathering, and storage. Players can further develop their influence by cultivating the faith of these followers and erecting monuments in their own image.
