Key information
Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer gameXcite have released a new free Roguelite mode titled "Q's Trials" for Star Trek: Voyager – Away Team. This update is available to all base game owners and launches alongside the "Equinox" DLC, which can be purchased individually or via the expansion pass.
In "Q's Trials," players navigate the Delta Quadrant through procedurally generated sectors and random events. The mode emphasizes replayability, allowing for unconventional strategies like promoting Harry Kim to captain. Players must manage "Q Modifiers" that alter gameplay mechanics, such as increasing crew capacity at the risk of higher illness rates, forcing constant tactical adjustments.
The "Equinox" DLC introduces the U.S.S. Equinox, a smaller science vessel with limited resources, crew capacity, and warp power. It also adds three exclusive heroes: Captain Rudolph Ransom, First Officer Maxwell Burke, and Crewman Noah Lessing. These characters are restricted to the new mode and feature a unique mission line, "Spirit of Good Fortune," which tests players' adherence to Starfleet principles.
The content is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Base game ownership is required to access these additions.
