British developer GOOD FUN CORPORATION announced that its PvPvE horror extraction action RPG, HUNGER, will hold a closed beta test from October 19 until October 26, according to Japanese time.

The title takes place in a setting where civilization has collapsed due to an unknown plague known as The Hunger. Survivors must venture into perilous wastelands and ruins for food and resources, playing solo or in teams of up to three to gather supplies and successfully escape.

Gameplay features both PvE threats like grotesque creatures and plague-infected individuals roaming the harsh environment, and PvP dangers from rival player groups hunting for the same resources.

Players risk losing most collected items upon defeat, but successful runs allow them to develop their characters using recovered results, preparing for subsequent explorations via equipment and crafting elements.

Participants can request access via the Steam store page, with previous technical test participants retaining access and new applicants chosen additionally to test servers and matchmaking infrastructure.

The game does not currently support the Japanese language.
