Key information

Tomohiko Sho, a veteran producer on the Dynasty Warriors franchise who has worked on the series since the second game, would be very happy if Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered achieves success. However, in a recent interview with 4Gamer, he admitted that he ultimately prefers to work on entirely new entries rather than creating more remasters.

While Sho noted that strong sales for the Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster could potentially increase the chances of remasters for Dynasty Warriors 4 and other titles not currently available on Steam, he stated that he honestly does not want to do them. Because such a project would act almost as a complete remake, he questioned the purpose of recreating something he created himself.

Now in his 50s, Sho considers how many games he can make before retirement, driving his preference for new games and sequels, though he also wants to respond to supportive fans. Because the Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster took several years to complete, Sho is considering handing over responsibilities for the next game to someone else, though no final decision has been made yet.
