S-Game plans to release Phantom Blade Zero in late October 2026. During a six-hour preview on PC, the developer showcased an action-heavy experience featuring Soul, an elite assassin betrayed and left for dead. With only 66 days to live, Soul must navigate a conspiracy threatening the Wulin.
The game utilizes a "Kung-Fu Punk" aesthetic, blending traditional Chinese martial arts with steampunk elements. Combat is a central pillar, choreographed by Donnie Yen and the Flying Goat motion capture studio. The mechanics rely on a Sha-Chi gauge, where players must parry and dodge to break enemy defenses, resulting in highly fluid, precise encounters.
Reviewers at JV praised the game's cinematic ambition, detailed environments, and responsive combat, noting that the camera remains clear during intense fights. However, they observed that some side quests feel conventional, the world features static decor, and the narrative remains somewhat reserved during the opening chapters. Despite minor bugs, the title is considered technically solid.
Players can customize their playstyle using 30 weapons and 25 Phantom Edges. The game offers four difficulty modes, ranging from the accessible Traveler to the challenging 66 Days, which introduces a permanent death mechanic. The title is expected to launch on PC and PS5.
