Key information
The PokéXciting! in Taipei event took place on October 10 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Held in the Xinyi District, the celebration attracted a massive crowd of fans and trainers who gathered for a full day of parades, meet-and-greet sessions, and stage performances.
The daytime festivities featured a parade led by a Taipei-exclusive pink afro Pikachu, accompanied by various Pikachu and Eevee characters. A notable highlight was the appearance of a 'spy Pikachu,' which was actually a Ditto disguised with a polite yet awkward smile.
Entertainment continued throughout the day with multiple stage shows. During the afternoon and evening, Pikachu performers danced to electronic and rock music. The event concluded with a grand nighttime show where the pink afro Pikachu returned alongside others to perform to new DJ remixes, energizing the audience.
Beyond the main stage, the venue featured various Pokégenic photo spots located in nearby parks. Attendees also had the opportunity to encounter Pokémon during surprise meet-and-greet sessions held throughout the area.
