Key information
CD Projekt Red is collaborating with Paramount Pictures to develop a live-action film adaptation of the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise. While the project is officially underway, there is currently no information regarding a potential release date.
The production will feature Lorenzo di Bonaventura, recognized for his work on the Transformers series, as a producer. CD Projekt Red joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that the studio intends to share further details when appropriate.
This announcement follows the commercial success of Cyberpunk 2077, which has sold over 40 million copies despite a difficult 2020 launch. The franchise previously expanded into a Netflix anime series, with a second season arriving later this month, and a sequel currently in development with 184 staff members.
The film project emerges alongside other adaptations from Paramount, including a Call of Duty movie slated for 2028 and a Street Fighter film scheduled for October 16th. These developments follow the recent merger involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery under the Skydance name.
