Key information
An independent developer named LoreanXavier is leading a project to bring the unplayable horror game P.T. to Windows as a native PC version without relying on emulators or engine remakes, utilizing the original PS4 executable file for reverse engineering.
The developer built the PC version using C++, Vulkan, and original game assets, aiming to maintain the exact original game logic, Lua scripts, recurring hallway loops, events, and final puzzles as a nearly one-to-one recreation.
The project introduces modern features such as support for frame rates exceeding 60 FPS, higher resolutions, keyboards and mice, modern controllers, and optional AMD FSR 3.1, though the developer noted that remaining visual differences are still being handled.
As of October 1, the completion rate was estimated at approximately 97 percent with the official release date yet to be announced, and Hideo Kojima himself acknowledged the fan port by sharing a report about the initiative.
