Key information
TENTACLE SOFT showcased the new title Don't Call It a Bad Game, Streamer at OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026, held on October 3 and 4, 2026, at Kongres Takatsuki Grand Front Osaka. The meta-fictional horror project revolves around a Korean developer visiting a Japanese streamer who reviewed a fictional predecessor named Happy Nanal to perform an emergency repair.
The Steam store page categorizes the game as a reverse-growth 2D jump action title where players acquire skill losses as they progress through stages. While the demo starts resembling a traditional cute yet difficult platformer with small platforms and lethal hazards, the experience gradually transforms into psychological horror.
As gameplay continues, unsettling Korean dialogue appears, and patch notes playfully claim adjustments like moving an arm to a separate layer so the game can be played with a single jump button. Players face choices asking which body part is most unnecessary for gameplay, such as the right index finger, left eye, or tongue, granting abilities that eliminate input fatigue or silence live commentary.
Don't Call It a Bad Game, Streamer is scheduled for release in 2026, with a demo currently available on Steam and planned support for 12 languages, including Japanese.
