Key information
Japanese independent developer Takeru Ito has launched a significant update for Minesweeper NEXT. The revamped title introduces a new user interface, improved performance, and a total of 950 puzzles across various rule sets.
The core gameplay requires players to deduce mine locations using numerical clues. The developer emphasizes that every puzzle is designed to be solvable through pure logic, eliminating the need for blind guessing. Variations include rules where mines cannot be adjacent or where numbers only indicate odd or even counts.
New features include background music, sound effects, and 30 unlockable titles and icons. Players can also access a safe cell hint system, which is unlocked by watching a single rewarded advertisement, allowing unlimited use within a specific puzzle without affecting achievement conditions.
Minesweeper NEXT is currently available as a free download on both iPhone and Android platforms. The game supports nine languages, including Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and English, and includes in-app advertisements.
