Key information

Independent developer Chemkaaa has launched a free playable demo for the strategy deckbuilding game Meteor Spin on Steam. The title combines traditional slot machine mechanics with planetary defense gameplay where users must safeguard planets from oncoming meteors, asteroid storms, and alien warships.

Instead of drawing standard cards from a hand, the deck is arranged inside a 5x5 slot machine grid. Pulling the lever activates modules like machine guns, armor-piercing lasers, missile bays, repair robots, and energy shields simultaneously once the reels stop spinning.

Grid layout serves as the core strategy after each wave. Modules can strengthen adjacent units, boost entire rows or columns, convert space debris into ammunition, or operate unstable scrap cannons. Additionally, over fifty different relics alter rules during every run.

The trial version lets users select Earth to experience the first sector of a branch-based star map. This sector features randomized events, shops, gacha capsules, and elite enemies. The launch date remains unannounced, though the Steam demo is currently available.
