Key information
Piranha Games released Ashes & Ascension for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries on October 7, 2026. According to 4Gamer, its campaign contains 18 missions set in the fictional years 3058–3060; these are story dates, not launch dates.
The paid expansion adds 13 Clan mechs and 11 weapon systems. A separate free base-game update improves pilot traits and the interface. The distinction matters when deciding whether to buy the DLC.
Choose according to what you want to change: additional missions and mech builds belong to the expansion, while interface improvements warrant checking the free patch first. Treating every change in a combined announcement as a paid feature can lead to an unnecessary purchase.
Before buying, confirm that the DLC matches the store and platform of your existing base game. A regional promotion quoted in an article is historical reporting, rather than a current worldwide price comparison.
