Key information
Sega Fave has officially announced the KING of Performai The 8th, a national tournament for the arcade music games maimai Deluxe, CHUNITHM, and Ongeki. The competition will also be held simultaneously for the International versions of maimai DX and CHUNITHM across various regions, including Asia.
The online qualifying round for the tournament is scheduled to begin on October 29, 2026, and will run through November 23, 2026. Players can enter via their respective game networks, such as maimai Deluxe NET, CHUNITHM-NET, or Ongeki-NET. Participants who enter the qualifying rounds are eligible to receive special rewards.
Each title features specific entry and scoring requirements. For instance, CHUNITHM rankings are determined by the combined scores of two master courses, while Ongeki utilizes technical challenge scores for four designated songs. Additionally, the national finals will be held as an in-person event at the Tokyo International Forum Hall B7, featuring spectator opportunities and special attendee programming.
While the domestic version includes a Last Chance Qualifier, this stage is not available for the International versions. For International participants, the top two players qualifying for the national finals will be determined solely by their online qualifying round results.
