Key information

Magic: The Gathering is officially bringing back God Packs after a 13-year absence, starting with Nauctis: The Sunken Realm in February. Magic communications director Blake Rasmussen explains that because Nauctis begins a new story arc after Reality Fracture, it provides an ideal reintroduction window.

Regular Booster Packs will feature roughly a 1-in-1,000 chance to contain 14 rares or mythic rares alongside a celebration card, while Collector Boosters will offer odds of approximately one in 300 packs. Universes Beyond sets will follow in 2028 due to longer production timelines with outside partners.

During tournaments, players who pull a God Pack must call a judge. Wizards recommends that organizers celebrate the find, let the player keep the pack, and provide an unopened replacement Booster Pack at no charge so play can continue.

Wizards is simultaneously updating booster structures by removing foil commons and uncommons, while Collector Boosters will lose three cards without replacement to reduce printing complexity and fund features like God Packs.
