The developers behind the RPG-dating simulation Love and Deepspace published a warning to players following an online response to fictional cocktail recipes featuring potentially toxic ingredients. On September 28, the game revealed five Shimmering Blend cocktail recipes linked to an in-game event themed around its romanceable characters.
Among the revealed drinks, one recipe combined pomegranate juice with cinnamon and a datura garnish, while another featured peach juice with gelatin sheets and a flame lily garnish. Fans quickly expressed anxiety in the comment sections, pointing out that both datura and flame lilies are dangerous plants. Datura is a psychoactive and highly poisonous plant capable of causing delirium, fever, and hallucinations, while all parts of the flame lily contain colchicine, a chemical that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and lethal hypovolemic shock.
Concerned commenters flooded the replies urging the official account to delete the post entirely due to the risks of players attempting to recreate the recipes. In response, the Love and Deepspace social media account posted a safety notice on September 30, 2026, stating that all the drinks shown are fictional and strictly for in-game purposes, instructing players not to attempt to recreate or consume them in reality.
