Afterburner Studios has announced Elta: Defy All Gods, an action platformer that combines intense melee combat, martial arts, magic, and non-linear exploration across three sci-fi worlds. The title is scheduled for release on February 2, 2027.
A free demo for PlayStation 5 becomes available today. The game blends brawler elements featuring three martial arts types with distinct skill trees and magic systems alongside classic platforming movement abilities such as double jumping, dashing, wall running, and grappling.
Players are accompanied by Elta, a dragon and ancient god who provides new abilities to reach previously inaccessible locations. Development of the indie title involved a core team of roughly a dozen members alongside three co-founders, drawing inspiration from classic titles like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, God of War, Darksiders, and Jak and Daxter, as well as shōnen anime and Hong Kong martial arts films.
