Key information

Hideo Kojima has provided fresh insights into Physint, his upcoming action-espionage game intended as a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. Marking his 40th anniversary as a developer, Kojima aims to evoke the roots of his classic series while introducing novel concepts.

The project's narrative is complete, with production moving toward the filming stage. Kojima personally selected the cast, noting that approximately 70% of the actors are fans of his previous work. Character names have largely been finalized for the production.

While filming is anticipated to commence next year, the project remains in the early stages. Actors including Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser, and Minami Hamabe have already undergone scanning. Kojima previously estimated that the game is still five to six years away from release.

Physint is expected to follow the release of Kojima's other project, OD. Although the developer frames this title as a return to his espionage roots, he emphasizes that it will offer a distinct experience rather than a simple repetition of past successes.
