Developer Ember Lab announced that Kena: Scars of Kosmora is scheduled for release in 2027. The title will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC in both physical and digital editions, with wishlists opening on Thursday, October 1st.

The studio delayed the game to 2027 to ensure it delivers a higher quality and a larger scale than their 2021 debut title, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. While retaining a character-focused, linear adventure format, the new installment significantly expands upon the scale and depth of its predecessor.

The narrative follows Kena as a spirit guide who has spent years training as both a warrior and a soul healer. Facing her own limits and unaddressed personal suffering, Kena travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora to meet her childhood friend Orphio, in search of answers regarding her past and future.

Kosmora features interconnected cultures once tied to four elements and alchemy, though a mysterious disaster previously destroyed one of them. To traverse this larger world, Kena is aided by a new crystalline, dog-like companion that serves as a mount, assists in combat, and helps solve alchemy-based puzzles.
