The ID@XBOX team has unveiled six featured titles for October 2026, highlighting a variety of genres ranging from dark fantasy and survival horror to cozy puzzles and tactical RPGs. These selections are available through the Indie Select Hub on the Xbox Store and Xbox.com.
Mortal Shell II introduces faster, more aggressive combat by removing the traditional stamina gauge, while The Sinking City 2 features a unique mechanic where parasitic worms reanimate defeated enemies. Mewgenics offers a complex, roguelike tactical experience with a generational breeding system for mutant cats, and Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game provides a 2D tag-team experience featuring characters from the Avatar universe.
Reviewers praised the tactile, nostalgic nature of Woodo, noting its satisfying diorama-based puzzles. Conversely, Lou’s Lagoon was lauded for its exploration and seaplane mechanics, though the reviewer noted that currency accumulation can be difficult and some game systems feel opaque or require a DIY approach.
These titles aim to provide players with diverse challenges, from the high-tension atmosphere of a flooded 1929 Arkham in The Sinking City 2 to the relaxing, story-driven gameplay found in Woodo. Each game is curated to offer unique worlds for players to discover throughout the month.
