The upcoming PlayStation 5 action game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, scheduled for release on Friday, March 5, 2027, lets players pilot the Gundam Helix to engage in high-mobility battles against an unknown extraterrestrial threat known as the Apocalypse.
Players can customize four frame parts—head, body, arm, and leg units—alongside weapons and the rear thruster unit, which significantly alters flight behavior and combat style. Each part includes enhance abilities, and combinations must stay within generator output limits. Color customization extends to inner frames and glowing sections, while MOD skins change only the visual appearance without altering performance.
In the hands-on preview of the Mars-set Sandy Planet mission, players fought scorpion-like Sinker enemies and a bipedal medium Apocalypse before facing the giant boss Chimera. Reviewers noted that dealing with swarms delivered exhilaration, while the Chimera boss fight provided intense tension, requiring evasive maneuvers, environmental bombs, and shield units.
The game will be available in physical and digital editions, including a standard physical version priced at 8,910 yen including tax, a collectors edition at 15,840 yen, and a digital deluxe edition at 11,880 yen.
