GameStop has begun listing pre-owned Sony PS5 Pros at $1,400. GameStop Pro members can purchase the pre-owned system for $1,330. This represents a $500 surcharge compared to a brand-new PS5 Pro, leveraging current stock limitations.
Hardware costs are rising across the industry because of ongoing chip shortages driven by AI development. Additionally, Sony increased prices for the PlayStation Portal, base PS5, and PS5 Pro in April.
The PS5 Pro debuted in November 2024 at $700, previously cost $750, and now retails at $900 when available. Furthermore, Xbox implemented additional price increases in August, bringing the cheapest Xbox Series S to $500.
Similar high prices for pre-owned PS5 Pro hardware appear on Amazon and Best Buy storefronts through third-party sellers like RYTEK, whereas GameStop officially sets its pre-owned pricing directly.
