Key information

Japanese peripheral manufacturer ELECOM has introduced the DST-L080BPBK, an 8-in-1 USB docking station designed to enhance productivity. The device distinguishes itself by incorporating a physical control dial and four dedicated buttons, allowing users to streamline workflows through customizable shortcuts.

The hardware features a large top-mounted dial for tasks like volume adjustment, timeline scrubbing, or zooming. While three of the surrounding buttons are user-definable, the top-right button is permanently mapped as a screen-off function.

Connectivity options include USB 3.2 Gen 1 with 5 Gbps bandwidth, SD and microSD slots, HDMI 2.0 supporting 4K 60 Hz, and a 1 Gbps RJ-45 port. Users must note that the device requires a host connection supporting DisplayPort Alternate Mode for secondary monitor output.

The dock supports up to 100W power delivery via a dedicated USB-C port. Priced at 13,728 yen (approximately 2,750 TWD), the product is currently only available in black, with no official confirmation regarding a release in Taiwan.
