Key information
The Epic Games Store is offering two free titles, namely the first-person shooter RPG System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and the mystery adventure game Buried Stars. Users can claim both games until October 8, 2026, at 23:00.
Developed by Nightdive Studios, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster modernizes the 1999 original. The new edition upgrades character, weapon models, and animations while introducing cross-platform cooperative multiplayer, mod support, ultra-widescreen, and support up to 144 FPS.
The narrative begins in the year 2114 aboard the starship Von Braun. Players awaken with amnesia to find the vessel infested with mutant creatures and deadly robots, under the control of a rogue artificial intelligence named SHODAN.
The second free title, Buried Stars, was created by Studio LARGO and LINE Games. Set during a live survival audition where a structural collapse traps participants and staff in debris, a murder occurs, prompting players to investigate through character dialogue, social media, and timelines.
